Hi! I am Kaia! Kaia means “Earth” in Norwegian and I live up to that by striving to live simply and self-sustainably. My first word was “happy,” adventure is my middle name, outside in nature is my happy place, coaching my kids soccer teams brings me extreme joy, my favorite color is yellow, and I passionately homeschool my five kids. I have been married for 14 years (I'm not old, I got married young!) and we all live happily ever after in a little house on a hill in the land of southern Wisconsin.
I enjoyed photography as a kid toting a neon green film camera around on any adventures I could get my hands on. I FELL IN LOVE with photography as a teenager photographing for our school yearbook. I still love that great portraits tell a person's story, get a thrill from creating images that are not only memories but fine art, from working a "job" that is different everyday with meeting new people and exploring new places, and affords me the privilege of photographing side court for a state basketball game and as a part of recording the miracle of birth.
I am a portrait photographer (senior pictures, newborn photography, family photographer, boudoir photographer... ) and freelance photographer serving the greater Madison area.
