Kelly + Sam found me through a long time good friend. When they booked me I not only was stoked to photograph the wedding celebrations of this sweet, down-to-earth couple, but I was so excited to see my friend Rachel again!
Kelly is clearly cherished by everyone she meets. This wedding was chalk full of “moment” opportunities for me as her mom got teary after she got her dress on, to a quirky “skit” Kelly’s sister performed about the strange approach the seamstress took to analyzing Kelly’s gown, to Nelson (the groom’s youngest brother) whom made it obvious throughout the day that he adores Kelly, and the way her dad was filled with tearful joy every time he was near her. And Sam was a charmer with a laid-back spirit and cool, for lake of a better term, face. I mean seriously, he has dark hair features on the one side of his face and light hair features on the other. So cool! There was something about Sam that also endeared me to him. Perhaps it is because he had the same name as a close friend of mine and my dog and the personality of a dear friend from high school. Anyway, I felt like I had known him forever.
This wedding was full of of unique pieces and unyielding love. Some of my favorite detailed touches were the wild flowers, the party favor wineglasses with chalkboard painted bases for personalization purposes, and the seating chart by time piece scenario (the “table numbers” were antique clocks set to specific time intervals).
What I loved about this wedding were Kelly’s details (mint green is a new favorite color of mine), the perfect summer wedding weather (not too hot, not too cold and partly cloudy), I loved our barn photo spot, the relationship between the groom’s youngest brother and the bride was precious, photographing the day with my dear friend Laura Drew assisting me, and I got to see my childhood friend Rachel!
Kelly + Sam, thank you for choosing me to photograph your wedding! I wholeheartedly enjoyed it and you! Blessings on your new, exciting journey!
