Citizen Way played for a youth lock in at The Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake on December 30, 2012. The church was packed and full of excitement. Since it was so close I was able to attend. I usually bring my camera to help the guys out with a little extra press and I still needed to take a picture that day – I am doing a photo a day starting a couple of weeks ago (check out my first could posts at kaiacalhoun.wordpress.com).
For this edit I decided to go with a full set of aged black and white images. It just seemed fitting for the atmosphere and the lighting that was provided.
I always love when I get a chance to see the guys play because there’s always something new about their set, their look, and their stage presence. Besides, it’s like I get to fall in love with my hubby over and over again as an overwhelming sense of pride overtakes me when I see his cute, sweet face on stage. What I also love about opportunities like this is the change of pace. Unlike every other gig I do professionally in a setting like this I am not directing anyone, I simply get to capture what is happening before me and really the only thing I have control over is vantage point and framing.
